In 1970, a missionary couple suffered medical problems and returned home to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jack Arthur became the station manager for a Christian radio station, and Kay Arthur started a Bible study for teenagers in their living room. The youth group grew and moved out of that living room to a patched-up, cleaned-out barn. When adults began to attend, Jack left his radio job and became president of what is now Precept Ministries, a worldwide outreach program that introduces both adults and teens to the Word of God through inductive Bible study.

Kay Arthur, executive vice president of Precept Ministries, is internationally known as a Bible teacher, author, speaker, and host of the national radio and television program, "Precept with Kay Arthur." The author of more than 20 books and 25 inductive Bible study courses, she has received the Gold Medallion Book Award three times--for His Imprint, My Expression; Lord, I Need Grace to Make It; and The International Inductive Study Bible. Her Bible study books have been translated into more than twenty languages, including Spanish, Romanian, and Hebrew.
